Trees for the planet, technology for people
ICT Training and Innovation

It may look surprising for a tree foundation to teach computing. But our mission is a greener and digitally empowered future for Kenya, and the two halves support each other. Young people with digital skills can earn a living, run community projects, and use technology to protect the environment.

Skills we teach

We offer industry-relevant ICT training that equips youth and communities with digital skills while promoting innovation for environmental conservation and sustainable development. Our programs include:

  • Cisco CCNA (computer networking)
  • Cybersecurity
  • Programming
  • Web Development
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Data Science
  • Cloud Computing
  • Digital Marketing

Why it belongs with our conservation work

Technology can make conservation more effective. Tracking which trees survive, mapping planting sites, sharing results with donors and partners, and reaching more people with climate education all depend on digital tools. When the people doing that work come from the neighbourhoods being restored, the benefits stay in the community.

It also opens doors. Networking, security, data and web skills are in demand across Kenya’s growing digital economy. Training young people in them gives them real options, from employment to starting their own small businesses.

Innovation for the environment

We encourage learners to think about how their new skills can serve the environment: simple tools to record planting data, awareness campaigns online, or digital marketing for community nurseries. Our own team includes an ICT officer who helps keep our work and communications running.
