Advocacy and Climate Justice

Planting trees and teaching skills changes things locally, but lasting change also depends on the rules, policies and decisions that shape how land and natural resources are used. Our advocacy work gives communities a voice in those decisions.

What we mean by advocacy

We work to influence policies, mobilise communities to protect natural resources, promote sustainable development practices, and collaborate with partners to advance environmental justice, climate action and responsible governance for present and future generations.

Climate justice

The communities that contribute least to climate change often feel its effects first and hardest. Informal settlements, small farms and low-income neighbourhoods have the fewest resources to adapt. Climate justice means making sure those communities are heard when decisions are made, share fairly in the benefits of environmental action, and are not pushed aside by it.

  • Mobilising communities to take part in decisions about the land and water around them.
  • Promoting sustainable practices in farming, waste management and development.
  • Partnering with organisations, institutions and government agencies that share our goals.

Grounded in field work

Our advocacy is strongest because it is grounded in practical experience. When we speak about riverbank degradation, school greening or climate adaptation, we do so with the evidence of our own projects and research behind us.
